Position Description:
HSE Specialist implements corporate HSE policy and procedures. Specialist provides support to site regarding HSE matters. Ensures compliance with HSE policies/procedures and applicable agency regulations.
Essential Functions:

Provide technical guidance on safety regulations, standard operating procedures, project plans and industry programs
Update and implement all safety procedures and programs
Prepare detailed reports with findings from inspections
Conduct follow-up inspections to ensure timely corrective action has been taken
Maintain quality control checklists and self-inspection checklists
Investigate and report incidents, near misses and hazardous situations
Perform Injury Statistical Reporting and Analysis
Perform Job Hazard Analysis (JHA/JSA) and Risk Assessments
Perform Incident Investigation/Root Cause Analysis

Physical Demands:
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Required Education, Experience, Certification and Licenses:
1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Bachelor’s Degree
3. Related safety certifications
4. Minimum 5 years of safety experience
5. Microsoft Office experience
6. Fossil industry experience (preferred)
